The National Organization of Trade Unions (NOTU), an umbrella union of workers organizations, is blaming finance minister Maria Kiwanuka for the troubles in the National Social Security Fund (NSSF). NOTU officials who appeared before the parliamentary committee investigating NSSF, accused the minister of failing to take action against NSSF board chairman Ivan Kyayonka for sanctioning the controversial purchase of UMEME shares.
NOTU Chairman Usher Wilson Owere demanded the censure of minister Kiwanuka for allowing a management vacuum at NSSF yet the top managers were recruited.
