The quarterfinal line-up of the Rak Tiebreak tournament is done and dusted. This as seed two David Oringa is made to work for his win over James Bayego at Lugog Tennis Club.
The match was left on a cliffhanger yesterday after bad light forced a suspension. Oringa kept his nerve to see off Bayego 5-7, 10-8, 7-3. He now sets up a quarterfinal date with Robert Buyinza.
Also safely through to the quarterfinals is seed one, Duncan Mugabe, who beat Kenya’s Kevin Cheriyout 7-4, 7-5. Mugabe will take on ninth seed Edward Odocken.
Rwanda’s Jean Claude Gasigwa, who is seeded third in the tournament, brushed aside Richard Semand 7-1, 7-4, and will next face John Birungi. The other quarterfinal will see Henry Muyanja take on 2014 Kenya Open champion, Ismael Changawa.
