Civil Society activists have asked the government to suspend the implementation of the anti-money laundering by at least a year to allow for further consultations and amendments.

Civil Society activists have asked the government to suspend the implementation of the anti-money laundering by at least a year to allow for further consultations and amendments. They cite unfairness and illegality in some of the sections of the law intended to check the illegal transfer of money across the borders. These concerns emerged during a consultative meeting on the new law here in Kampala. It was organized by Chapter Four, a civil rights organization. Here is Moses Akena’s report.
