U.S embassy warns Uganda on looming terror attack

The U.S. Embassy Kampala has issued an alert to its citizens warning of the possibility of retaliatory attacks in Uganda by al-Shabaab in response to the U.S. and Ugandan military actions in Somalia last week which killed al-Shabaab leader Ahmed Godane.

The U.S. Embassy Kampala  has issued an alert to its citizens warning of the possibility of retaliatory attacks in Uganda by al-Shabaab in response to the U.S. and Ugandan military actions in Somalia last week which killed al-Shabaab leader Ahmed Godane.
The warnings two days come ahead of the anniversary of the September 11th attacks in the US.
It names the targets for these attacks as hotels, restaurants, nightclubs, shopping malls, diplomatic missions, transportation hubs, religious institutions and  government offices.
It also asks its citizens to maintain a high level of vigilance and take appropriate steps to improve personal security and avoiding crowded locations.
