Ugandans living in different parts of America are facing a host of challenges especially as they are dealing with a credit economy. This not only affects the newcomers but also those who have been there for some time.
Coping in this kind of economy is not the only challenge. There is also adapting to the American culture especially for the youth who experience a culture shock as they try to adjust.
One of the organizations that is trying to help newcomers adapt to this change is Breaking Barriers run by Ugandans. Breaking Barriers says its efforts are geared towards the unification, personal development and education of African youth living in the United States.
