The national netball team, the She Cranes, is on the cusp of qualifying for next year’s Netball World Cup. This after comfortably seeing off hosts Botswana 47-32 at the ongoing qualifiers in Gaborone.
It was in all honestly a walk in the park for the She Cranes who held sizeable leads in all four quarters at the Bona Arena. Uganda’s lead swelled from 12-6 in the first quarter to 23-13 at half-time.
The She Cranes didn’t take their foot off the pedal, and they further increased their lead to 35-21 after the third quarter. Ultimately, the 47-32 final score was a true reflection of Uganda’s dominance.
The She Cranes will take on Swaziland tomorrow before closing their qualification campaign with a match against Namibia. The top two finishers at the round robin qualifier will secure tickets to next year’s World Cup in Australia.
