Parliament calls for deeper democracy in Uganda

Parliament has a special session on democracy in Uganda.

Members of parliament want political leaders to entrench more democratic values in the governance of the country. The call was made by Western Youth MP  Gerald Karuhanga who kicked off the discussion during a plenary session at parliament. The lawmakers cited the police’s harassment of Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi’s supporters over his perceived presidential ambitions as a case in point.
