When the Africa qualifying leg of the Netball World Cup was turned into a round robin competition after a string of withdrawals, the mathematics became much simpler for Uganda’s She Cranes. The She Cranes are a step closer to qualifying for the World Cup due next year in Australia.
This as they edge Zimbabwe 43-42 to make it two out of two. The She Cranes had to do it the hard way by overcoming a one-goal deficit at half-time in what turned out to be a nail-biter.
It’s still champagne on ice for the She Cranes who still have to negotiate three tricky fixtures, including Wednesday’s clash against hosts Botswana. Uganda has already picked up the scalp of Zambia whom they beat 52-45 Monday.
