The ministry of health has confirmed that there are 8 suspected cases of the Marburg virus in Uganda from Kasese, Mpigi and Kampala districts. The eight, including the brother of the first victim to the disease who died in September, are exhibiting mild signs and symptoms of the deadly viral disease.,

Marburg viruses are endemic in arid woodlands of equatorial Africa  and  have been found in  monkeys, chimpanzees and fruit bats.
